Mrs. Blackmon-Info for PTA meeting: In regards to the traffic, Melissa and I have both been at the front of the school in the mornings randomly to remind parents not to turn left.  I sent home a voice message to parents.  I have requested a turning lane and it is being reviewed by Central Office.

We have hired a 3rd grade teacher for track 2 – Angela Cullen. This opens up room on track 2 for 2nd and 3rd grade enrollees without increasing numbers at other tracks.   I have requested a review of our numbers to ask for another teacher for kindergarten. The date for the Spaghetti Dinner has changed to Feb. 26

We are still waiting to hear from the technology services about the support of the mini-laptops, so we are on hold for now on purchasing them.  We have ordered 7 smartboards for use in the school with selected classrooms, where the teachers will be piloting their use. Summit went well, although we had less participation than expected.  There is a committee working through the suggestions and we will meet as a team to discuss recommendations.

There is a form that the county requires for any school use before or after school, even that by the county office or the PTA.  The PTA is not required to pay school use costs, but must complete the form.  Melissa will give you the hand-out I received at the meeting on Tuesday.
