Welcome to Willow Springs Elementary School, home of the Baby Bengals! We had an extraordinary year in 2008-2009. We increased our active membership from 232 to 361!
Our parents helped us raised nearly $46,000 for our budget. Thanks to our wonderful parents, we were able to continue to provide the same programs and events as we have in the past, despite the current economic recession!
The 2009-2010 PTA has three new officers: Susan Beasley, vice president; Carol Federline, secretary; and Heather Carroll, treasurer. We are blessed to have such a talented and dedicated group of women in our PTA!
The Willow Springs Elementary PTA is very active and supportive of the teachers and families at our school. Please consider volunteering to help with the PTA as well as in the classroom. Please purchase a membership and participate in our carefully chosen fundraisers. Feel free to approach a board member to offer your suggestions and encouragement and to attend our monthly meetings.
Many of our activities are offered twice so that the programs can serve all tracks. When this isn’t possible we have scheduled our events so that they are offered toward the end of a track out so that the tracked out group can return to participate. Communication is important, especially with a year round schedule. Please, check your child’s folder for updates from the PTA. We also have a wonderful, continuously updated website. Please check back often for new information. Please listen to the phone messages from Mrs. Miller each week as they contain useful information about upcoming PTA events.
When you join or renew your membership you become an active member of the State and National PTAs, the largest and most effective advocacy groups for children. Remember, parent involvement makes a school strong! There are several events already planned for this school year, such as Math and Science Night, the Scholastic Book Fair and our Annual Spring Festival. Many volunteer opportunities exist that do not require a huge time commitment or meeting attendance.
You will find participating in the WSES PTA is very rewarding. We look forward to meeting and working with you this school year!
Go Baby Bengals!
