Hello! My name is Jack Martin and I am lucky to announce that this is my first year at Willow Springs Elementary. Before becoming a Baby Bengal, I was at Centennial Campus Middle School for seven years. Prior to Centennial, I worked primarily at the elementary level as a school counselor in Northern Virginia, Durham and Wake County. The 2007-2008 school year marks my fourteenth year as a school counselor. I am so happy to be back to my elementary roots.

I was born in Northern Virginia where I primarily grew up. I did live in Colorado Springs, Colorado for about seven years, hence my fanatical fascination with the Denver Broncos!! My two brothers (Tom and Dan) and I make a pilgrimage to a Denver Broncos game at least once a year. I also have a beautiful sister, Anne.

From a very young age, I knew I wanted to do two things. One was to become a counselor and the other was to play professional baseball. I am hitting .500 on those two goals, which is by the way, a Hall of Fame batting average!

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. While at GWU, I played four years on the baseball team (the professional baseball dreams stopped thereJ). Immediately following my graduation from GWU, I enrolled at Marymount University where I soon completed my Masters Degree in School Counseling.

I currently live in Fuquay-Varina with my lovely wife Trish and four children (ages 4-9). As you can see, as soon as I leave Willow Springs in the late afternoon, I go directly home to another elementary school. My wife Trish works for the Center of Urban Affairs at NCSU.

A 'did you know?' about me is that I also have a disc jockey business that keeps me busy on many Friday and Saturday nights...my alias is Jack of Clubs.

I look forward to a wonderful school year here at Willow Springs Elementary. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email.
Best Wishes,
Jack Martin
